are you listening?

Habakkuk 2:1-3 (KJV)

2 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

2 And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end, it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

As I was reading the book of Habakkuk the words “Are you Listening” formed in my spirit. I began to think about the ones who have visions, goals, and objectives established for the future. However, now you are facing a situation where things are bleak with lots of unknowns and uncertainty. You have many questions that are racing vigorously in your mind, as you try to figure out how you’re going to get over this hump. I know you feel frustrated, angry, and rejected. How could such a thing happen at this point in my life? Why now? What did I do to deserve this? What am I going to do now?

God sees and hears all the emotions you are currently facing. He knows and understands your needs. He is fully aware of any bills that need to be paid. He knows that you are a single mother and the father is not active. He knows that you relocated for the job only to be laid off six-months later. He knows that you were looking forward to your graduation ceremony that has been postponed. But he has one question for you, which is, Are You Listening?

Have you thought about the message that God is conveying to you? There are many questions that you have asked? But have you asked God to show you his vision and plan for your life? I understand that you have a vision but, is it the one God gave you. Yes, you have some unexpected inconveniences but, what is the next step? You may be at the point now where you have exhausted all your reasoning. Therefore, I encourage you to seek God for guidance and direction, just as Habakkuk did. He too was frustrated and not sure how to solve the dilemma he was facing, but when he turned his face to God only then could he hear from God, and write a clear vision and plan.

Child of God, please don’t grow weary now. God has you here for a reason. Open your ears and allow God to speak to you, then write the vision and make it plain.
