Hebrews 10:37, King James Version
For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
In 2021, I began to search for a new home to purchase. As some of you may know, the housing market was at its peak, with high prices, limited inventory, and multiple bidders. My daughter was finishing her freshman year in high school, so I had specific requirements to ensure she stayed at her current school. I assumed this would be a quick process, but I was wrong. I cannot begin to tell you the number of bids I submitted that were all rejected.
The excitement I once had faded and was replaced with anxiety and distress. I did not understand why my offers were rejected, even though I would fast and pray beforehand. Finally, I had to end the emotional roller-coaster and accept that those houses were not for us. However, my requirements for the neighborhood and school remained the same. After a few more rejected offers, the message from God became clear. God wanted to bless me with a house, but according to his timing, terms, and conditions. I was stubborn and wanted to do things my way, but God soon shifted my focus to align with his will. So, I relinquished control and allowed God to lead the way.
By being obedient, God blessed us with a new construction house in a different city. My daughter changed schools, but it worked in her favor. She is now ranked in the top six percent of her class, has been inducted into the National Honor Society, a starting six-rotation Outside Hitter for her varsity volleyball team, and continues to excel in the varsity Choir. When I purchased my house, the housing market had shifted, and I walked into my home with equity. I also obtained my Real Estate license, closed the deal on my new home, and walked away with a bonus and commission check. I could not have imagined things would turn out this way, but when you step back and let God, he will bless you exceedingly and abundantly.
I imagine that's how the lady with the issue of blood felt after suffering for twelve years and going from doctor to doctor, only for her condition to worsen. She was trying to solve a problem that was greater than her capabilities. When she finally decided to surrender, Jesus showed up on the scene. All it took was a touch of his garment and her faith, and she was immediately healed (Mark 5:24-34). It's amazing how quickly God responds when we are in total submission. It is not God who purposely delays our blessings, but you and I when we fail to surrender.
If you are wondering why your labor is not yielding the expected results, it's because the power lies within God and can only be released when you let go. As long as you continue to manipulate things according to your timing and under your terms and conditions, the solution will be delayed. God said our afflictions will not last forever, but we must refrain from doing his job and wait quietly for him to deliver us.
Let’s pray,
Lord, my prayer is that we learn to trust you with every aspect of our lives. Help us to surrender our will and desires to you. Let our will and spirit be in alignment with you. Enable us to wait for your perfect timing and for our blessings to manifest. Lastly, Father, engross our spirit with one that is patient, quiet, and calm in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Be blessed!
